Workaholic or Entrepreneur

I was accused of being a workaholic the other day , simply because I was trying to finish a job and meet a deadline.

I find it odd that people who have jobs without deadlines can’t understand why I would continue to work to meet them. The whole point of meeting a deadline is the reason why I am often hired for a job. As one of my other freelance friends said, if the client had time to do it themselves, they would. They only bring us in when they don’t have time.

I was wondering what to reply when I read an article in the San Jose Business Journal last week, about what makes an Entrepreneur. The answer was one who went above and beyond. Who stayed up until 2 a.m. to get the job done.

So, perhaps I should just say I’m an entrepreneur, instead of a freelancer, and then people will understand.
