Strange Sites III

After writing about all the strange sites I have come across in my life on the web, now people aren’t writing about them, and so I don’t have as many to talk about.

  • Strange commerce-A virtual lemonade stand. Rather fun, once you get the hang of it.

  • All things Python one of the few sites about a cult that is written by the cult themselves. Very cool. You can even buy a killer rabbit there.
  • Orisinal Games. This one was featured, in another form, on the website of the day on the Steve Wright show on BBC Radio 2. I have found that it is very odd listening all day to the BBC, and then going out to my car where I get local radio stations, and hearing the difference. It’s a strange world we live in.
  • Sleeping in Airports . This one also was a website of the day. Very fun, not because you might ever want to, but to let you know where you can. I once stayed up all night in an airport, San Francisco. Very boring. Got to know the screeners and baggage handlers. One even ended up giving me a lift home.
  • FreeCycle: This is not a place to get free bikes (although I suppose you could do that too.) It is a place to give away stuff and get stuff. I think this is for people who don’t like to throw stuff out, or give stuff away or hold garage sales. I tend to give away my stuff to friends.
  • Dog Income Tax:, Just in case you feel that you need this. :)
  • The Webby Awards: This is another you-can-get-lost-in-forever sort of page. My gosh. Just going to one of the winners will keep you from your work for a good long time.

All of these are guaranteed to make you forget what you were supposed to be doing, instead of reading or playing on the web.
