PDFs will soon not be safe, from advertising
I read in the San Jose Mercury News the other day, that Adobe is joining up with Yahoo to put advertising in online PDFs. This would mean, that after you had navigated through all the ads that might be on a website, and grabbed the coveted PDF that you were looking for, you would be further assaulted with advertising.
This is only in the testing stage, but several advertisers have signed up for it.
And what is the quote on this? "I think it’s a real win-win," said Melissa Webster, an analyst with IDC. "It’s good for the publisher, its good for Yahoo and its good for Adobe."
Notice there is no mention of the consumer. The consumer doesn’t count. They are just an end product. We only exist to sell products to.
